Adam Khan is a father of 3 daughters. He lives in Mazar-e-Sharif and works as an ordinary construction worker. But it’s not enough for his life and his family, especially during these critical times of COVID-19.
While taking photos and videos, I noticed that his wife was crying. She was sick and was sitting at the corner of the tiny room. She shared about her situation, about her inability to visit a doctor. She also shared that they are not even able to pay their home rent, which is 1500 afs (about $20).
At the same time, Adam Khan mentioned the coronavirus situation. He said how it is affecting his life and since the entire city is locked down because of it, many poor families are facing difficult situations. They cannot even afford buying food and meet their basic needs.
‘On one side, we accept the fact that we have to stay at home and follow the government’s rule, but, on the other hand, I cannot see my children dying from hunger. It is better I die instead of my children and wife.’Adam Khan
